The Unit perform the following activities:-

• Acquire/ develop, maintain and update software system.
•  Establish and maintain LAN and WAN.
• Provide trouble-shooting services to all Council computer accessories.
• Design and enforce system security.
• Facilitate e-Government and e-Business operation.
• Develop data sharing policy in the Secretariat.
• Manage IT system.
• Undertake studies and propose areas of using IT as an instrument to improve service delivery in the Council.
• Install and upgrade the database servers and application tools.
• Allocate system storage and planning for future storage requirements for the database systems.
• Create primary database storage structures (table space) for different designed applications.
• Modify database structures as recommended by application.
• Manage and review MIS specifications and service contracts.
• Promote Information sharing, transparency and accountability within the Council and towards the General public.
• Promote efficient communication among the Council’s staff and stakeholders.
• Ensure the uninterrupted functioning of those manual and automated information systems and information networks crucial to the Council’s operation.
• Ensure development and maintenance of ICT systems.
• Prevent the intentional or unintentional destruction of information.
• Developing ICT policies and standards.
